Webinar Description: This webinar will provide information about the NCI-contracted single (or Central) IRB that will streamline IRB review of studies using the VPR Cancer Linkage System. The Biomedical Research Alliance of New York (BRANY) will describe the single IRB processes, introduce you to their team, and allow time for attendee questions and comments.

 Intended Audience: This webinar is for central cancer registry staff and their IRBs.  We request that registries forward the registration information to their IRB contact(s).

LauraDonohue is a Certified IRB Professional (CIP) with more than 20 years ofexperience in research administration (15 years as a clinical researchcoordinator, 6 years in IRB administration). She is responsible for supervisingthe BRANY IRB staff, implementation of Standard Operating Procedures, managingIRB review of ongoing research, and assists with development and implementationof strategic goals for the BRANY IRB team. Ms. Donohue is the BRANY projectmanager dedicated to the NCI CIRB initiative for review of SEER data requestsand research studies using the VPR Cancer Linkage System.  Ms. Donohue’sintegral knowledge of IRB processes and procedures as well as the perspectiveof the research site will contribute to the success of this project.

Linda Reuter is a Certified IRBProfessional (CIP) with more than 28 years of experience in IRB administration.She is responsible for managing the IRB team, compliance with IRB StandardOperating Procedures and applicable regulations, managing IRB activities, anddevelopment of short and long term strategic goals for the organization. Ms.Reuter provides training and supervision of the IRB staff and committee membersand will ensure proper systems are in place to support the NCI CIRB initiativefor review of SEER data requests and research studies using the VPR CancerLinkage System. Ms. Reuter will assist with training on the key points ofBRANY’s process; her integral knowledge of IRB procedures will contribute tothe success of this project.

Raffaella Hart is a Certified IRB Professional (CIP) with more than 20 years of experience in IRB administration. She is responsible for the strategic planning and overall operations of the BRANY IRB, and will provide training and supervision of the members of the IRB team supporting this project. Ms. Hart is directly involved with negotiating IRB reliance agreements, and works closely with organizations to gather the local research context details needed to ensure proper pathways are in place with regard to communication between the organizations and local requirements. As the Program Director for the NCI CIRB initiative for review of SEER data requests and research studies using the VPR Cancer Linkage System, Ms. Hart will provide a broad knowledge base for this project.
