RDU NAACCR Talk: Building Registry Tract-Based Datasets with 2020 Geography

Recorded On: 12/14/2026

This "How To" webinar is the NAACCR Version 26 update for creating census tract-level SEER*Stat incidence databases to support spatial analysis and health equity research. This presentation will go through step-by-step how to handle the NAACCR Version 26 incidence data, census tract-level population estimates, and the area-based social measures data. Two databases will be built. One uses only census 2020 tract geography for cases diagnosed in 2010 and later and is appropriate for both geographic (tract, reporting zone, congressional district) and area-level attributes analysis. The second uses a combination of 2010 and 2020 tract geography for cases diagnosed in 2006 and later and is appropriate for area-level attributes analysis, but not geographic analysis. This webinar is suitable for registry analysts, academic researchers, and anyone interested in the use of cancer registry data.
